Dr Roberts joined the PET Research Centre in March 2017 as a Cyclotron & Radiochemistry Technician.
David’s primary role is the operation of the facility’s 7.5 MeV cyclotron to produce fluorine-18. David works to support research in the facility and is responsible for general operation, isotope production and maintenance of analytical instruments.
As the Lead Radiation Protection Supervisor, he trains workers in the safe handling of radioactive materials and ensures compliance to HSE and EA regulations.
David has been part of the team working on the development of the Molecular Imaging Research Centre at Castle Hill Hospital and once operational, will split time between the two sites.
Dr David Roberts completed an MChem degree in Chemistry (with Nanotechnology) in 2012, followed by a PhD in Chemistry in 2017 both at the University of Hull.
